1st of May in Sydhavnen 2025

International Workers' Day is celebrated in Sydhavnen with a really nice event:

Come and join us in creating a wonderful event as a volunteer, when Sydhavnens venner af 1. Maj for the 17th time host May 1st.

There will be various volunteer tasks for everyone, and the only requirements are that you are friendly, welcoming, and happy.

Please note, however, that it is an advantage to understand Danish.

All volunteers will receive hot food and drinks, and food for the volunteers will be served from 4:00 pm.

About the program:

On the day, you can also experience speeches from labor activists and politicians, there will be political stalls for different associations. And again this year, there will be entertainment for all ages, as well as music for every taste. Circus Panic will have a performance. The camel and the donkey will also be present - and the Children's Animal Park arranges pony rides. As well as food and drink stalls serving vegetarian daal, Middle Eastern falafel, and pita with everything.

About the association:

The purpose of the association is to gather the residents of Sydhavnen for a broad socialist annual event on May 1st.

"The Friends" (Vennerne) were formed in 2008 because there was a common desire to organize a local May 1st party, for and with people in Sydhavnen.

An idea of a May 1st party with entertainment, political content, and solid live music, as well as a strong desire to recreate a popular May 1st, with both seriousness and celebration.

The proceeds from the event go to ensure next year's May 1st celebration in Sydhavnen.

Please note, we also invite you to an information meeting on April 26th from 5-6:30 pm, where everyone who wants to know more is welcome.
