Copenhagen Sprint

Copenhagen Sprint

Join the World’s Road Cycling Elite in Copenhagen

In June 2025, when Copenhagen hosts a World Tour cycling race for both men and women, thousands of spectators will line the route — backed by a strong team of dedicated volunteers behind the scenes.

The race stretches from Roskilde, through North Zealand, and finishes in the heart of Copenhagen. A spectacular world-class event — and you can be part of it!

Become a Route Volunteer

Copenhagen Sprint is looking for route volunteers to help ensure safety, maintain a clear overview, and contribute to the great atmosphere along the course. As a route volunteer, your tasks include showing the way, raising or lowering barriers, monitoring restricted areas, and informing road users about the event schedule when needed. You are not responsible for directing traffic — trained professionals will take care of that.

Your shift starts with a thorough introduction, and you’ll receive the equipment you need along with a volunteer T-shirt, which you can keep as a thank-you for your help. You’ll also have direct contact with the sector leader for your part of the route throughout your shift.

As a volunteer, you’ll experience world-class cycling up close — right from the front row. The route will close approximately one hour before the riders arrive, and most shifts last around two to three hours.

How to Sign Up

In 2025, registration will not take place via the Kulturens Frivillige portal, but directly through Copenhagen Sprint:

Requirements, Conditions & Practical Information

  • You must bring a fully charged mobile phone so you can stay in contact with your sector leader during your shift
  • Meals are not provided during the shift, as shifts are short and spread across the area
  • The role takes place outdoors and requires standing — make sure to dress appropriately for the weather. Rain ponchos will be handed out if needed
  • You must speak at least basic Danish or English, as route volunteers need to communicate with members of the public. Fluency in Danish and/or English is a plus
